Acquisition of basic and professional competencies from 2018 to 2022

During 2018– 2022, the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and the European Social Fund co-finance the education and training of employees and the unemployed to acquire basic and professional competencies, with a focus on the development of competencies in the field of information-communication technologies.

In the central part of the South-East region, a consortium led by CIK Trebnje whose partners are RIC Novo mesto, Grm Novo mesto – Centre of Biotechnics and Tourism and ŠC Novo mesto, applied for co-financing of various public-level programmes for adults and programmes for the acquisition and development of core competencies, which include:

  • communication in Slovenian,
  • communication in foreign languages,
  • mathematical competence and basic competencies in science and technology,
  • learning of learning,
  • social and civic competencies,
  • initiative and entrepreneurship,
  • cultural awareness and expression.

They will be exercised in various programmes in the fields of communication, financial literacy, computer (digital) literacy, health at work, language learning, learning Slovenian for immigrants etc.

Language courses last 50 hours and most other programmes take 40 hours, and the content of the programmes can be adapted to the needs of participants and employers.

RIC Novo mesto currently offers the following programs:

  • Programs to improve computer literacy
  • Programmes of general non-formal education - SNIO programmes
  • Life-performance training programmes
  • Programmes of preparation for the Slovenian language examination and application for qualification or other certificates
  • Other publicly valid programs

The consortium led by CIK Trebnje was granted EUR 914.544,91 for the implementation of the project in the period from September 2018 to October 2022.

Improving competencies less involved in lifelong learning.
