Knowledge for excellence in non-formal adult education
Between 2020 and 2022, the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and the European Social Fund co-finance the training of employees identified as appropriate staff for the performance of educational work in non-formal adult education programmes (NIPO participants), to improve competences due to employers' development needs, reduce disparities between skills and labour market needs and develop their careers, personal development and function in modern society.
The project promoter is UPI-People's University Žalec. RIC Novo mesto is a consortium partner in the project. The project also involves MOCIS, the Centre for Adult Education Slovenj Gradec, the People's University of Krško, the Zasavska People's University and the Velenje School Centre.
Project objectives:
- implementation of the principle of lifelong learning,
- improving the competencies of NIPO participants and thus increasing their employability and mobility,
- improving the quality and efficiency of non-formal education by NIPO participants,
- strengthening the professional identity of NIPO participants,
- empowering NIPO participants with new competencies - specific skills that will also respond to employers' development needs, leading to a reduction in disparities between skills and labour market needs, and contributing to the development of employees' careers, personal development and functioning in modern society,
- prepare the expert basis for the systematic monitoring of the educational needs of NIPO participants.
The part of the project being carried out at RIC Novo mesto is planned for the following key achievements:
- we will implement 15 andragogy training and training programmes,
- 210 participants will be included in the programmes.

- Strengthen communication and leadership skills with the help of neuro-linguistic programming
- Introduction to neurolinguistic programming for adult educators
The project is co-financed by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and the European Social Fund. The consortium, led by UPI Žalec People's University, was granted EUR 523,578.29 for the implementation of the project between June 2020 and October 2022.

Improving equal access to lifelong learning for all age groups in formal, non-formal and informal forms of learning, modernising the knowledge, skills and competencies of the workforce and promoting flexible forms of learning, including through professional advice and validation of acquired competencies; specific objective: 10.1.2. Improving employees' competencies to reduce disparities between skills and labour market needs.
