Lifelong career guidance - VKO

RIC Novo mesto was a concessionaire of the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities for The Labour Market Service from June 2016 to December 2018, hereinafter the LIFELONG CAREER ORIENTATION - LEARNING CAREER MANAGEMENT SKILLS.

In the framework of the Lifelong Career Guidance (VKO), we implemented three types of programmes aimed primarily at acquiring skills to learn about an individual's interests and competencies, opportunities in the environment, learning to make decisions and achieving employment and career goals. The target group was job seekers whose employment is at risk and all other unemployed persons.

The VKO workshops were divided into three groups:

  1. Workshop C1 – "Career after the 50th"
  2. Workshop C2 – "Effective performance in the labour market"
  3. Workshop D – "Counsellor"

The programmes were based on topics related to knowledge of the functioning of the labour market, identification of competencies, expectations of employers and the basics of labour legislation, and effective communication, which included learning written and oral self-presentation, upgrading communication skills and analysing employment interview.

The workshops were funded by the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities.

Workshops of lifelong career guidance are carried out from January 2019 under the auspices of the Novo mesto Guidance Centre.
