The Development of Guidance Models for Vulnerable Groups

Target group: older adults, members of the Roma community and adults with special needs.

Summary (project goals and purpose)

This is an innovative approach, where the experts in the field of adult education are joined by the senior volunteers and representatives of the three religions in Slovenia: Catholic, Protestant and Muslim. The project has contributed to improving the situation of the target groups of the project with a focus on improving the quality of life and greater social inclusion.

Project results

1. New models of guidance were developed:

  • Guidance Model for the Roma
  • Guidance Model for older adults
  • Guidance Model for adults with special needs

2. e-learning materials for the training of counsellors for vulnerable target groups were developed:

  • e-learning materials for the training of counselors who work with the target group of the Roma
  • e-learning materials for the training of counselors who work with people with special needs
  • e-learning materials for the training of counselors who work with the target group of older adults
  • e-learning materials for the training of counselors who work with vulnerable groups

3. The counsellors for vulnerable target groups were trained; from the ranks of educators, clergy, senior volunteers and Roma volunteers.
4. The pilot implementation of models into practice took place in Bela Krajina, Dolenjska, Kočevje, Prekmurje and Podravje.
5. A project miscellany was published.
