Target group

The target group was lower-educated (less than four years high school or ISCED 1-2) and less qualified, with an emphasis on the over-45s.

Project Summary

The aim of the project was to increase the involvement of adults in lifelong learning and to improve the competencies they need due to labour market needs, increased employability and mobility, and personal development and functioning in modern society.

The project allowed co-financing of the implementation of adult education programmes for the acquisition of basic and professional competencies, with a focus on the development of competencies in the field of information communication technologies.

The key project activities were:

  • information to businesses and the general public and motivation to engage in training
  • promotion of the project,
  • planning, organisation, implementation and monitoring of individual programmes and
  • project management and reporting.

Project results

In period 17. 6. 2016 to 31. 3. 2019, 27 different educational programmes in the field of digital, foreign languages, Slovenian language, communication, financial literacy, the initial integration of immigrants, health and programme of preparation for the Slovenian exam at the basic level were available for employees.  Most of the programs lasted 50 hours.

  • The project implemented 147 programmes, including 73 programmes of general non-formal adult education and 74 programmes in the field of computer literacy. The content of the individual programmes we implemented in the project is presented here.
  • A total of 2,042 participants (1,743 different individuals) were enrolled in the programmes, 954 of whom were over 45 years of age.
  • 763 or 86.3% of participants successfully completed the programme, of which 871 were over 45 years of age. (the programme was successfully completed if the participant was present at least 80 % of the hours of the duration of the programme All who successfully completed the education received a training certificate and an annex with an inventory of acquired competencies under the programme.
  • We carried out 7,592 hours of education and worked with 45 different companies and institutions.
  • Participants in educational programmes rated satisfaction with lecturers on a scale of 1 to 5 at 4.85, with a content with a score of 4.71 and an organization with a score of 4.67.

The programmes were co-financed under the Operational Programme for the implementation of the European Cohesion Policy for the period 2014-2020, priority axes: 10. Knowledge, skills and lifelong learning for better employability; investment priorities: 10.1. Strengthening equal access to lifelong learning for all age groups in a formal, non-formal and informal environment, improving the skills and competencies of the workforce and promoting flexible learning opportunities, including through the professional guidance and validation of acquired competencies; specific objective: 10.1.1. Improving competencies less involved in lifelong learning.
